Environmental Policy
Timbertown Pies supports sustainable development and is committed to environmentally sound business practices. We conduct our business in a manner that respects and protects the quality of the environment by limiting emissions into the water, air and land and by the efficient use of resources.

Timbertown Pies commitment to the environment is reflected in our business plan. The protection of the environment and efficient use of resources is key to all decisions regarding building modifications, purchasing of new equipment, vehicles purchases or the restructuring of business operations.

We are constantly reviewing our environmental objectives and targets to continually improve our environmental performance. We have an internal committee dedicated to examining ways to implement our environmental commitments.

Real Measures
Timbertown Pies is committed to transitioning our manufacturing operation to a carbon neutral position within the next 3 years. The family has already invested hundreds of thousands of dollars to achieve this goal with implementation of the following;
Transitioned from electric powered bakery equipment to gas powered equipment
Installation of commercial solar heating systems for all our hot water requirements
Installation of 20kW solar energy system to feed back to the electricity grid
Transitioning vehicle fleet to new fuel efficient 6L per 100km diesel engines
Transitioning heavy vehicle fleet to newer more fuel efficient diesel engines
Reduce, re-use and recycle our on-site waste

We have conducted an exhaustive energy usage audit and have identified ways we are able to further reduce electricity consumption and make better use of resources. We are currently in the process of implementing the recommendations of this independent report. Our efforts have been recognised by the NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change & Water, view here.

We also engage and encourage similar environmental commitments from our suppliers and contractors.
